Mae geri is one of the kihon renshū exercises of Shōrin ryū Seibukan. Yoi is in zenkutsu dachi. The kicking foot is first brought close to the knee of the support leg. After the kick, the foot is quickly retracted (hiki ashi) to the knee and just as quickly replaced on the floot. The knee and below of the support leg should not move.

All Seibukan kicks are keage (snap kicks). There are no kekomi (thrust kicks).
